Fans making their way to and from the SVNS are well-catered by the City’s vast array of coffee shops, bars and restaurants.

Beaufort Street, Highgate is a popular strip with pubs and restaurants including some of the favourite watering holes of rugby fans. The Queen’s Hotel (16 mins), Brisbane Hotel (7 mins) and the Ruinbar (10 mins) are all just a short walk from HBF Park.

It’s also worth checking out Lotus (located within The Beaufort hotel) – a new restaurant getting rave reviews for its top-quality, high-end Asian food; while the wood-fired pizzas over the road are to die for, at Italian restaurant Ischia.

Beautfort Street is an area former Australian Sevens and Western Force player and resident of Perth, Jono Lance knows well.

While it’s one of his favourite haunts, Lance says, if rugby fans want to look further afield for food and drink in Perth, they won’t be disappointed.

“Perth is very spread out because of the nature of the coastline and there are some great food spots dotted around,” the two-time Super Rugby winner said.

“Fremantle is definitely a very trendy part of Perth. There’s a great hotdog place there called Run Amuk, which has ‘Where’s Wally’ tables.

“Perth is just as much about the morning coffee scene as it is about the evening restaurant/bar scene.

“There’s a bit of battle at the moment for the best cinnamon scroll. A personal favourite of mine is North Street Store in Cottesloe.”

While you’re never far from getting a delicious pastry or sausage roll in Perth, Lance says one of the things he tried as a youngster in England, while his father Dean was coaching at Leeds Rhinos, has now found its way over to the other side of the world.

“There’s a place (Johnny Fox’s in Northbridge) that does Yorkshire Pudding wraps. I spent some of my childhood in Leeds, England so I love Yorkshire Puddings … delicious pastry and gravy – what more do you need?!”
